Note against budget cuts and in support of affected scholars

The Ufes Telecommunications Laboratory goes public to express support for scholarship holders affected by Decree No. 11,269 imposed by the Ministry of Economy, which interrupted the payment of Capes scholarships for master's students, doctoral students and residents.

The Ministry of Education has suffered the most cuts since the beginning of the Bolsonaro government, with its total budget reduced by more than 30%. Non-payment of scholarship holders in December is a criminal act, affecting researchers who depend on this resource to survive, since they work exclusively on their projects.

Thee scientific community of LabTel goes public to express its support to the affected researchers and demand measures from the Federal Government for the immediate reestablishment of the payment to the scholarship holders.

A country that does not invest in Education is doomed to failure!
